Hacker Adrian Lamo last week cracked into The New York Times databases holding the personal information of 3,000 employees and big-name contributors such as former President Jimmy Carter. The Times says it has filled the security holes that Lamo came through. Experts say it's unlikely the paper will be held liable for the breach. Says privacy researcher Richard Smith, "The Times is probably in the clear here, because Adrian Lamo didn't misuse the data."
