Looking for a greater share of high-level government business, IBM and Novell's newly acquired SuSE Linux business unit last week attained a Controlled Access Protection Profile/Evaluation Assurance Level certification of 3+ from the Information Systems Security Organization. Government agencies rely on this security certification to help them evaluate which technology they can introduce into sensitive IT environments. IBM and Novell achieved this certification running SuSE Linux Enterprise Server 8 with Service Pack 3 across all of IBM's server platforms.
