You just can't make this stuff up. Apparently a man brought his iPhone to the Genius Bar at an Apple Store. He also brought his 9mm piece, which he brandished and pointed at his iPhone, threatening to shoot it.
You just can't make this stuff up. Apparently a man brought his iPhone to the Genius Bar at an Apple Store. He also brought his 9mm piece, which he brandished and pointed at his iPhone, threatening to shoot it.Here's some lighter reading for a Friday afternoon. The story goes something like this.
Donald Goodrich, 38, visited the Apple Store at the Towne Center shopping center in Cincinnati, Ohio. He brought his Apple iPhone to the Genius bar. He said there was a problem with the phone. According to police, he said, "I'm so mad, I could pop a 9mm at [my iPhone]." Goodrich then said, "I'll do it right now! Look!" At this time, Goodrich lifted up his shirt, and and flashed a handgun.
The employee -- who deserves total props for keeping his/her cool -- was able to distract Goodrich at the Genius Bar while a manager called the police.
The police arrived. Turns out, Goodrich had a permit to carry a concealed weapon. Despite the permit, he was charged with aggravated menacing. When he revealed the weapon, the Apple Store employee blieved that "the offender will cause serious physical harm." In other words, he/she felt threatened, and threatening someone is against the law.
Goodrich was arrested on the menacing charge.
A few words of wisdom to be imparted here: No one threatens an iPhone in Cincinnati, Ohio, and gets away with it.
