The new discipline comes at a time when many organizations face increased risk. In our survey, taken last year, 66% of respondents say their vulnerability to breaches and malicious code attacks is either the same as it was in the previous year, or worse. Some 21% say they never conducted security-risk assessments, and of those that do, just one in five imposes the rigor of using a specialized external auditor.
