Yesterday CA launched Records Manager R12. The latest version of the software meets the Department of Defense 5015.2 standard, which defines the requirements for any record-keeping application used by the DoD and other government agencies. The new software also improves integration with popular repositories and other record management systems, such as SharePoint 2007 and Documentum WebTop 5.2.
Records Manager R12 lets organizations manage content in place. The software acts as a policy engine that integrates with third-party data stores, such as a SharePoint server or file share. Records Manager can apply disposition and legal hold policies to managed content in its original location, rather than requiring IT or department managers to move content into a different repository.
In-place management lets users continue to work with content in the applications they are familiar with, while giving IT, legal, and records managers visibility and policy control. CA also offers a standalone repository if corporations prefer that approach.
The new software also integrates with OpenText eDOCS DM 5.2, Interwoven Worksite 8.2, and popular e-mail clients, including Outlook and Notes. It also integrates with CA's Message Manager, an archive for e-mail and IM.
