DataJungle Software released a Pilot Pack designed to let customers assess the capabilities of extension products the vendor makes for Cognos' online analytical processing technology.

DataJungle's Matrix and Annotator products are designed to extend the functionality of Cognos' OLAP data analysis application, PowerPlay. Matrix is a Web-based application that lets users build dashboards on top of PowerPlay servers and cubes. Annotator extends PowerPlay with collaborative capabilities, aggregating information and integrating it with the Cognos software. The Pilot Pack, which bundles Matrix and Annotator, sells for $2,495.

"The idea is that at $2,495 we make it possible even for smaller organizations that have made an ivnestment in Cognos BI to realize the same benefits as the larger organizations" that are already using DataJungle products, said DataJungle VP of sales Rob Taylor in a prepared statement.

DataJungle software can be deployed on top of relational databases or business intelligence servers, such as those made by Cognos and Microsoft. Cognos is an official partner and reseller of DataJungle technology.
