Forum Systems, provider of trust management and threat protection Web Services security solutions, announced today that it has been selected to secure strategic Web Services applications for Motorola, Inc. Forum Sentry Web Services Security Gateway and Forum XWall Web Services Firewall will help enable and protect Motorola's service oriented architecture (SOA).

"Motorola is a true Web services visionary and Forum is excited to provide a breadth of strategic Web services security solutions that will enable Motorola to accelerate their use of Web Services for mission critical applications," said Wes Swenson, president and CEO of Forum Systems. "Adding Motorola to our F1000 customer portfolio further solidifies Forum products as world-class solutions."

"The Forum suite will help Motorola deploy a new breed of high-value, trusted business applications by meeting our current and future Web services security requirements of data privacy and integrity, risk management, and Web services authorization," said Bill Boni, chief information security officer for Motorola.

Forum System's agent-based "hub and spoke" architecture will help support the global fulfillment of Motorola Web services to its small, medium, and large enterprise customers and business partners through a service oriented architecture. Motorola is expected to deploy Forum Sentry hardware devices as centralized "hubs" to manage, distribute and speed security policy enforcement and decision-making. Forum Sentry software will also be deployed as "agents" to be controlled by Forum Sentry hubs, automatically receiving update-to-date security policy changes which will guarantee compliance to Motorola Web services security regulations.
