Composite Software OEM partnership will accelerate integration strategy.
On March 28, 2005, Informatica and Composite Software announced a development and OEM partnership. Through this partnership, Informatica will include the Composite Information Server with Informatica’s PowerCenter data integration platform. Further integration of the two environments will commence as well. This announcement occurs against the backdrop of other EII integration announcements by IBM/Ascential, Information Builders, Cognos and Actuate. This announcement is important to Composite because it adds a second top-tier partner to their roster to validate their technology. Informatica benefits by shortening the delivery time for having EII as part of their data integration product suite. Both companies will benefit from their joint collaboration.
Clearly, various meta-data management, security, and other system resources can be shared, which will benefit organizations with unified and simplified development and administration processes. Ventana Research believes the combination of EII and data integration platforms are a key building block to a comprehensive enterprise-wide information management framework. IT organizations intending to deploy a spectrum of operational and strategic business intelligence and performance management organizations need to architect a comprehensive information management framework that addresses ‘just in case’ and ‘just in time’ data access needs.
