A new service provides on-demand e-discovery to help companies churn through reams of electronic files. This week Autonomy launched a hosted e-discovery system that provides three major services: early case assessment, full electronic discovery, and review/production.
Law firms and enterprises involved in complex litigation that may require the analysis of gigabytes' worth of information can use the on-demand service instead of provisioning large amounts of storage for in-house litigation tools. They simply need to ship the data, usually stored on DVDs or other media, to an Autonomy data center.
Key to the release is extensive foreign language support. The service can search, index, and process content in 100 languages. It also can index digital audio files, which are increasingly finding their way in litigation thanks to unified communications, recorded broker/dealer conversations, and recorded customer service calls.
Pricing is based on the information size, the number of users, and the required turnaround time.
