Merlin Technical Solutions has entered into a reseller agreement with AmberPoint, provider of service-oriented architecture (SOA) management solutions. The combination of Merlin and AmberPoint solutions and services aims to provide a powerful answer for government agencies that want to make use of SOA. The partnership is expected to result in mission-critical SOA implementations that enable government agencies to better integrate their systems and reduce costs.

"Although there has been much talk about Web services and SOA by many companies, only AmberPoint and Merlin are actually selling these solutions into leading government agencies and helping implement these solutions into production use," said David Phelps, president and CEO, Merlin. "We're working with two large agencies of the U.S. Department of Defense, where our manageable SOA implementations will serve as examples of how other government agencies can benefit from such loosely coupled, standards-based systems."

AmberPoint is the a provider of SOA management software. With its modular, distributed architecture, AmberPoint aims to simplify the management and evolution of Web services-based business solutions.

Working together, Merlin and AmberPoint have had two recent successes with the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) and the Department of Defense United States Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM). They are now assisting their federal clients in taking their Web services into production.
