Professional services firm Understanding K.K. will serve as the primary distributor of ProClarity 6 in Japan.
Business intelligence software firm ProClarity struck an agreement with a Tokyo-based consulting firm in hopes of expanding into the Japanese market.
Under terms of the deal, professional services firm Understanding K.K. will serve as the primary distributor of ProClarity 6, an analytics platform, in Japan. Understanding specializes in the implementation of and support for business intelligence applications for Japanese customers.
"The combination of Microsoft SQL Server and ProClarity 6 provides one of the most robust business intelligence solutions available, and we are confident that it will play a major role in the Japanese business intelligence market," said Understanding CEO Satoshi Nakamura in a prepared statement. ProClarity historically has a close relationship with Microsoft, operating primarily, but not exclusively, in conjunction with the SQL Server data platform.
ProClarity 6 debuted in September, with navigation and visualization elements that improved on previous versions of the software. It features a middle-tier server that provides persistent connections to multiple data sources.
ProClarity, Boise, Idaho, already has international operations in Europe and in Asia outside Japan.
