Teradata and MicroStrategy signed an agreement under which Teradata will resell MicroStrategy's business intelligence software and services, the companies said Friday.

Teradata, a division of NCR, sells data warehouses, analytic applications and related services. The company is particularly well established in retail, and it shares many customers with MicroStrategy in that industry. MicroStrategy claims almost two-third of the world's 50 biggest retailers as customers. Teradata and MicroStrategy have a total of 175 joint customers in retail, financial services, communications, manufacturing, transportation and government.

The agreement builds on existing marketing and technology agreements between MicroStrategy and Teradata. MicroStrategy has participated in Teradata's beta program for ten years. Teradata also has partnerships with other business intelligence software makers, including Business Objects and Siebel.
