"As you may know, Intelligent Enterprise ceased print publication with the January 2007 issue, but rest assured that the mission lives on and is being reinvigorated here at IntelligentEnterprise.com… "

I posted these words nearly a year ago, and I'm happy to report that we've delivered on what we promised - up to a point. We said we would "continue to bring you the content you valued most in the print magazine…" along with "an increased emphasis on timely news and insight." We promised to continue our association with expert contributors such as Cindi Howson, Ralph Kimball, Margy Ross, Seth Grimes, Rajan Chandras, Neil Raden, Bruce Silver, Mark Smith and others who helped establish IE's reputation for thought leadership. In fact, most of these contributors are now a part of the Intelligent Enterprise Blogosphere, so you can read (and respond to) them several times each month rather than waiting for six print columns per year. You've responded to what we're doing at Intelligent Enterprise, so much so that traffic is up more than 30 percent in 2007, and we're now routinely surpassing 125,000 unique visitors each month. What we haven't delivered, until today, has been the promised "cleaner, more engaging Web site." Now before you is a redesigned site that delivers our content in a more attractive and user-friendly way. As you can see, we've kept our in-depth feature and news coverage front and center while raising the profile of our influential blog. Our blogosphere continues to grow, with popular new contributors including David Linthicum on SaaS, Nelson King on Rich Internet Apps, Alan Pelz-Sharpe on Enterprise Content Management, Phil Kemelor on Web analytics, and Sandy Kemsley on business process management. Throughout the year we've tightened our editorial focus to reflect measured reader interest, and in place of nine channels on the old site, the red navigation bar at the top of the new site brings you to five areas of coverage: Business Intelligence, Enterprise Applications, Information Management, Performance Management and Process Management. If you drill down to the channel level, you'll see much more focused coverage that you'll soon be able to subscribe to via RSS feeds. What's more, we offer "In Focus" subnavigation links (in the boxes top right) that not only detail what each channel covers, they actively filter our most recent content by topic. There's much more to the new site, including interactive polling, compelling image galleries and other forms of content that can only be delivered online. Most importantly, it's all presented in a clean, simple template that makes it easier to find what's relevant to you. We hope you like the new site as is, but we already have further refinements in the works.

Simple as it looks, the redesign took months of work, and I'd like to thank, first and foremost, site producer (and now accomplished designer) Joy Culbertson. Thanks also to Tom Smith for his guidance and experience (that latter gained through years of leadership at information.com). Finally, thanks to site development, production and design gurus Roma Nowak and Jeanette Hafke, and to Steve Gilliard and John Wang, the guys in IT who turned the vision into a new site."As you may know, Intelligent Enterprise ceased print publication with the January 2007 issue, but rest assured that the mission lives on and is being reinvigorated here at IntelligentEnterprise.com… " I posted these words nearly a year ago, and I'm happy to report that we've delivered on what we promised - up to a point… What we haven't delivered - that is until today - has been the promised "cleaner, more engaging Web site."
