Cast Iron on Thursday launched a hosted integration service for companies looking to connect applications from multiple software-as-a-service providers.
The Cast Iron Cloud would be particularly useful to a mid-size or small company using, for example, NetSuite for their financial application and Salesforce.com for customer relationship management, Chandar Pattabhiram, VP of product marketing for Cast Iron, said. By connecting the two SaaS products, subscribers could create workflows for moving customer orders, invoices and other business documents between the applications.
To set up the connection, Cast Iron has built a library of integration templates as a starting point, Pattabhiram said. By selecting the template for Salesforce.com and for NetSuite, users can configure from 70% to 80% of the workflow and integration with the remainder requiring coding for customization.
Cast Iron has templates for 23 SaaS providers, and is looking to partner with more. Companies willing to work with Cast Iron can either refer customers to the integration vendor, resell the Cast Iron service or its in-house integration software, or license the integration technology and embed it in their own online services, Pattabhiram said.
Cast Iron Cloud starts at $1,000 a month.
