The FBI has called claims that a database of iPhone/iPad IDs and personal info was hacked off one of its computers "TOTALLY FALSE".
The FBI has denied claims made by the hacker group AntiSec that they had hacked into a computer belonging to an FBI supervisor and taken from it a database of personal information on iPhone and iPad users. In a a statement on their web site the Bureau states:
The FBI is aware of published reports alleging that an FBI laptop was compromised and private data regarding Apple UDIDs was exposed. At this time, there is no evidence indicating that an FBI laptop was compromised or that the FBI either sought or obtained this data.
The FBI had earlier denied the substance of the claims a tweet from @FBIPressOffice. The text of the tweet:
Statement soon on reports that one of our laptops with personal info was hacked. We never had info in question. Bottom Line: TOTALLY FALSE
