HootSuite gave wings to its latest social media application, one designed to leverage the iPad's capabilities and features.
The developer's social media dashboard allows users to connect multiple social media sites from one website. Teams also can work together, collaboratively scheduling updates to social networking sites, including Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn, via the web, desktops or mobile devices, according to HootSuite. With the release of HootSuite iPad App, HootSuite now delivers the same capabilities to Apple's popular tablet.
"We’ve artfully hand-crafted this mobile app specifically for the iPad’s unique interface and designed it to complement your HootSuite web account," the company said. "This new owl makes use of the iPad’s large screen to maximize the tools you’d typically use on the device, plus includes most of the goodies that you currently enjoy in HootSuite."
Like the HootSuite iPhone and HootSuite web apps, the new iPad app supports multiple social networks and profiles -- including Twitter, Facebook, and Foursquare, message-scheduling, and on-board stats, HootSuite said. It also allows users to manage campaigns and monitor social networks. The software includes real-time Twitter search, is geolocation-aware, and has a built-in link shortener, the developer said.
"With HootSuite for iPad, you can quickly import accounts with a simple migration wizard to get started," according to the company.
This year, HootSuite grew to more than 900,000 users with 1.9 million social networks, HootSuite said. The company, which has almost 30 employees, manages more than 1 million outbound messages each day, it noted.
