This week was full of mobile news, starting with Apple's iPhone 4S, which disappointed many people who expected more on the hardware side, but delighted just as many who can't wait for a better, faster phone (not to mention the voice-controlled personal assistant, Siri).

And the week ended with Sprint detailing its plans for LTE. Not only is Sprint finally getting the iPhone, but it will be investing heavily in its network. If it can succeed in these two areas and offer a low-price alternative, Sprint may just win over some new new customers in the next few years.

Also Samsung cancelled a planned event for CTIA -- its "Unpacked" gathering, which -- if you believe the rumors -- had the company unveiling the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, a 4.65-inch Super AMOLED phone with a curved screen, running on Verizon's 4G network and, perhaps just as significant as anything about the hardware, will be the first device to run next version of Android, dubbed Ice Cream Sandwich. No word on why Samsung cancelled.

Of course the week also included the sad news of the passing of Steve Jobs. The outpouring of emotions and thoughts has been overwhelming. We share some of ours in this week's episode of BYTE Wireless Radio.
