Join us in Second Life and on the Web for a conversation with Wagner James Au, author of the new book, The Making Of Second Life, a history of the virtual world, its creators, and residents. The book is a terrific chronicle of a four-year technological landmark and cultural phenomenon.Au, known in Second Life as "Hamlet Au," worked for Linden Lab as Second Life's first "embedded journalist." He was hired by them as a blogger soon after the platform launched in 2003, assigned to chronicle the creative work being done by the users of Second Life. Later on, he struck out on his own, and currently blogs at New World Notes. His book, which goes on sale next week, chronicles the rise of Second Life, from a dream by founder Philip Rosedale to a thriving community.

It's a fascinating book, and sure to be a fascinating discussion. Please join us Friday at 3 p.m. Eastern time for a voice discussion at CMP Amphitheater in Second Life. Or you can listen to the discussion on the Life 2.0 chatBridge/Audio .
