Last Saturday, we published a review comparing Mac OS X and Windows Vista. The topic was a huge hit with you, our audience, prompting a flood of e-mails.Some readers, however, wrote to criticize the review, stressing their feelings that author John C. Welch was writing from his position as a well-know Mac advocate. Others told us they felt the piece was one of the most detailed technical comparisions between Mac OS X and Windows Vista they'd ever read.

Few areas offer as fertile a field for ongoing debate as does the question of Mac vs. Windows. That's why I'm asking you to keep our point-counterpoint discussion going. Please use the comments field here to note specific areas where you believe Vista has the upper hand on Mac OS X, particularly any where you may disagree with author Welch. If you feel there's a case to be made that OS X has the upper hand, like Welch believes, let me know that, too.

I'll compile the substantive, functionally focused retorts and publish those right alongside Welch's review in a single, reader-driven article.

We've also invited contributing reviewer David DeJean to take a stab at responding from the Vista perspective, and expect to be publishing his findings in the near future.
