Panorama Software has introduced the first release candidate for NovaView Version 6.0, a suite of Web-enabled business intelligence applications.

The preview of the latest version of NovaView incorporates Google Apps to enable customers to use the online office productivity suite to share and collaborate on reports. Before version 6.0, Google Apps support was available through a service pack for NovaView version 5.5.

Among the Google Apps features available in version 6.0 is the Flash Analytical user interface and the ability for real-time collaboraton on reports with partners and suppliers that don't have access to data inside the firewall.

Panaorma uses Google Apps' spreadsheets within NovaView SharedViews to make it possible for customers and partners to share reports by simply clicking on a button. NovaView then rebuilds the report and pushes it to Google, which makes it available through Google Apps.

Because NovaView reports are tied to Panorama's Web-based OLAP engine, users also can create dashboards and display them in iGoogle, which is the Web portal's customizable homepage.

Panorama launched the test verstion of NovaView 6.0 last week on the company's Web site. The suite is scheduled for final releae in June. Panorama focuses on creating front-end applications that run on the BI layer of Microsoft and SAP.
