In a clear illustration of how the Internet levels the playing field--or at least adjusts it--more than 4,600 people have signed an online petition to have New Zealand director Peter Jackson (The Lord Of The Rings) write and direct the yet-unnamed third Star Wars episode. Signee No. 3,497, Jacque Sergent, writes, "Peter Jackson would add new depth and flavor to the Star Wars legacy. Sorry, George [Lucas], but you're getting old and predictable."

Ouch!
