The comparison-shopping site unveiled a Firefox plug-in that lets users search for bargains directly from the open-source browser.
The Shelron Group Inc., owners of the comparison-shopping site ActiveShopper.com, released on Monday a Firefox plug-in that lets users search the Web site for bargains directly from the open-source browser.
The Shelron Group recently made changes to the Web site to make it fully compliant with Firefox, which is made and marketed by the Mozilla Corp. The latter organization recently announced that it had exceeded 100 million downloads of the browser.
The plug-in is the Shelron Group's first tool for Firefox. The plug-in can be downloaded from the ActiveShopper download page.
"This is our first FireFox initiative and we plan to continue investing and creating more FireFox products, to cater to the growing FireFox user population," Eliron Yaron, chairman of Shelron Group, said in a statement.
Comparison-shopping sites are popular with consumers. The sites enable shoppers to compare prices of a variety of vendors and read product and seller reviews. This year, online auction giant EBay Inc. agreed to pay $620 million in cash for Shopping.com, one of the Web's largest comparison shopping sites.
