Adobe released the finished update to its Acrobat document creation software, which includes support for multimedia content and for combining document types into one file.Acrobat 9 enables users to include .mov and .wmv files in a PDF document as Flash content, along with audio files and 3D content. Users can also capture Web pages as PDFs that include links and animation. The Portfolios feature allows the inclusion of multiple document types, including Web pages and Microsoft Office documents, into a single PDF file that can have a welcome page and a page-flip view.

The Standard version (Windows only) costs $299 (upgrade price: $99). The Pro version (Windows and Mac) adds support for personalized Portfolios, digital signatures, and other features and costs $449 ($159 upgrade). And the Pro Extended version ($699/$229, Windows only) adds the Adobe Presenter plugin to PowerPoint, map support, and more. (For a complete comparison of features, see the table here.)
