America Online Inc. is enticing sports fans to log on with a variety of online promotions including making highlights of the previous 39 Super Bowls available at AOL Sports, the company said Wednesday.
The videos are available through the playoff season and Super Bowl XL, as million prepare to tune in later this month to the Super Bowl XL in Detroit.
Returning to the AOL lineup this year is the 4th Annual AOL Super Sunday Ad Poll. This is where fans can view commercials that aired during the game and vote for their favorite spot. Voting will begin following the game. The AOL Super Sunday Ad Poll is available free on the Web at AOL.com.
AOL Sports will feature exclusive content, including Top 5 highlights of 2006 playoff games and highlights of the 2005-2006 season, live streaming interviews with players, commentary from select sports columnists and Super Bowl fan quizzes.
Sports Bloggers Live will have special Super Bowl coverage throughout the playoffs. At http://sportsbloggerslive.com, football bloggers can express their views during the live Monday night broadcasts from 7P.M. to 8 P.M. EST, or submit questions for special guest athletes and leading sports journalists to answer during Thursdays' pre-taped Sports Bloggers Live broadcasts. Each show is available as a podcast.
After the game, AOL said it will "continue the fantasy" a little longer with Pro Football Fantasy Challenge. The site allows sports fans to manage a team of 14 players from the National Football League (NFL) teams that qualified for the playoffs. After teams are eliminated from the playoffs, sports fans can keep those players and their points or choose to restock the roster with players from the remaining teams.
