Not only did they settle, but Apple and Cisco said they plan to work together to make sure their respective iPhone products will work together for "consumer and enterprise communication."Six weeks ago Cisco filed suit against Apple in a federal court in San Francisco over Apple's plans to launch a smartphone using the iPhone brand. Cisco claimed that it had legal rights to the iPhone brand dating back to 2000 when it acquired InfoGear, which had used the brand for some of its products.
Speculation is now growing that Apple and Cisco may work together promote Wi-Fi and VoIP use on their respective products. Will the new iPhone also be a revolutionary wireless VoIP phone? And how would the carriers react to such a device?
