Steve Jobs just completed his keynote speech at Macworld Expo. Much of what he talked about was focused on consumers, such as a new version of the Apple TV, and movie rentals from the iTunes Store. However, there were two announcements that we of potential business value coming from Apple: A new notebook computer, called the MacBook Air. Shipping in two weeks, the new computer is perfect for business travelers. It contains a 13.3-inch display comparable to that of the regular MacBook, but the machine weighs only 3.0 pounds (compared to 5.0 pounds for the MacBook). There's no built-in optical drive, and the clock speeds are slower. However, these specs make it perfect as a second Mac for travelers.

Updates to the iPod Touch's software which provide it with e-mail capabilities and other applications for mapping, weather, notes and stock tickers. With the mail application, the iPod Touch is essentially a smart phone without the phone. For many users, that's all you need.

More from Macworld later!
