Computer Sciences Corp. says it has won a major contract to provide a range of IT services to St. Louis-based Ascension Health, operator of the nation's largest nonprofit health-care network.

Under the 10-year, $1.35 billion deal, CSC will provide help-desk, network, security, and telecommunications services at more than 80 Ascension facilities across the country. The agreement extends a $200 million, seven-year deal that Ascension awarded CSC a year ago. The new agreement takes effect Jan. 1.

CSC expects to disclose its second-quarter fiscal 2005 results on Nov. 9. Analysts, on average, see the company posting earnings of 66 cents a share on revenue of $3.88 billion.
