AT&T announced today a new hosted offering to interconnect telepresence rooms based on Cisco's solution. I haven't seen much in the way of details around how one schedules, manages, and sets up a multi-enterprise telepresence session yet, so it will be interesting to see how they deliver on the details, but this announcement marks a big step forward for Cisco as it looks for new ways to expand the usefulness of its telepresence offering.
We continue to see a growing interest in telepresence as I noted here.
Still, I wonder how long before we see a HD or telepresence interconnectivity service that support multivendor environments, and even crosses over into the mobile world to support one-way or two-way participation by those with mobile devices on 3G/4G networks.
