Home PC users can now join scientists, doctors, and tech companies to seek a treatment for anthrax. The Anthrax Research Project is making available for download a screensaver that exploits the power of idle computers to help fight the often-lethal disease.
The program uses a PC's spare processing cycles to perform pattern matching in search of a drug that will bond with the anthrax toxin.
