The U.S. Navy has awarded CACI International Inc. a $103 million prime contract to support the Navy Enterprise Maintenance Automated Information System data-center operations in Norfolk, Va., the IT integrator said Wednesday. The Navy has the option to extend the three-year contract for an additional four years.

The Navy Enterprise Maintenance Automated Information System is replacing aging maintenance information systems with new integrated software. The data center is accessed by thousands of Naval Sea Systems Command and fleet users for daily business operations, maintenance reporting, and resource management.

Standardizing and integrating systems so its personnel can more easily collaborate is a major Navy objective. Says CACI CEO Jack London, "Enterprise resource planning is an important step in the transformation of America's military infrastructure to meet the needs of the 21st-century war fighter."
