A high-powered coalition of 200 computing and networking CEOs last week launched a lobbying effort to convince the federal government to jump-start the deployment of broadband access services available to U.S. homes and businesses. The Technology Network group says the nation's goals should include the availability of 6-Mbps access links from at least two providers to half of the United States by 2004 and the availability of 100-Mbps links to 100 million U.S. homes and businesses by 2010.
