A Hollywood actor who starred in the now-defunct "X-Files" TV show has begun selling what he calls the "Chill Pak," a reusable freezable plastic mat designed to be placed under a laptop to cool both the hardware and the lap of any man who may be afraid of lowering his sperm count.
Playing off a recent study that said the heat generated by laptops pose a fertility threat to men, actor Dean Haglund is marketing the Chill Pak as an answer to the problem of both poor motility on the part of sperm, poor performance on the part of the notebook.
The Chill Pak resembles the medical icing packs that can be frozen and re-frozen.
Haglund said that his discovery of the cooling properties of, well, cold things, came as an epiphany. "I was watching a movie on my laptop, and it kept locking up on me," he said in a statement. "The ice pack protecting my knee injury accidentally slid underneath my laptop, and the movie immediately began playing, trouble-free. I realized the cooling action of the ice pack was the key."
Haglund sells the Chill Pak from his Web site for $19.95.
