Cisco Systems (CSCO-Nasdaq) last week turned in its first quarter of revenue growth this year, reporting $4.45 billion in revenue for the quarter ended Oct. 27, up 3% from the quarter ending in July. The latest sales figures for the network equipment vendor's first fiscal quarter of 2002 are still 32% less than the $6.52 billion it earned in the same quarter a year ago. Pro forma income for the latest quarter, which excludes acquisition costs and other one-time expenses, was $332 million, down from $1.36 billion a year ago.
