ClearCube Technology and DataSynapse Inc. on Monday announced a partnership to deliver a grid-enabled PC blade platform tailored for use by the financial services industry.

The combination of ClearCube's PC blade hardware and DataSynapse's GridServer software will increase performance, efficiency, and scalability, says Raj Shan, chief marketing officer for ClearCube.

"We have been working together for the past six months and are now formalizing this relationship to go to market together to solve the grid computing deployment challenges for the financial services community," Shah says.

DataSynapse is a leading provider of virtual application infrastructure software for the financial services sector, and about third of ClearCube's revenue is also derived from deployments in the sector. The financial services sector is a particularly good fit for PC blade and grid-computing implementations due to the centralized and "locked-down" nature of PC blades, which provides a more secure environment that is easy to manage, Shah says.

A PC blade implementation can be deployed in dual-use mode, allowing for individual users during the day, and deployed as a grid to run high-demand computational programs at night.

The ClearCube and DataSynapse platform is available immediately.
