With all the layoffs lately, leaving unemployed people to face a lot of competition in an already tight job market, prospects could seem bleak. But one of the goals of the incoming Obama administration is to create or save 2.5 million jobs in the next two years.As unemployment levels reach their highest in years not just in the States but also in other parts of the world, thousands of people fear dim job prospects as the competition increases for fewer openings.
However, President-elect Barack Obama has said one of his goals is to create -- or save -- 2.5 million jobs during the next two years with a job stimulus package worth, economic experts predict, $700 billion.

If your smaller company is currently struggling, then check out the possible newly created jobs or the ones most Obama most wants saved, according to Jobfox:
Those responsible for construction of roads, bridges, transit, and rural broadband: construction managers, project managers, civil engineers, computer-aided drafting specialists, and telecommunications engineers.
Those who provide greater oversight of financial markets: compliance accountants, internal auditors, tax accountants, and government regulators.
Those who provide energy independence: electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, power grid managers, biofuels chemists, and sales and marketing.
Those involved in health-care modernization: nurses, information technology specialists, bioinformatics specialists, information security specialists, and software developers.
Those who promote volunteerism and community involvement: social workers, administrators, and translators.
So Obama's "change" platform could ring true for smaller businesses that have been struggling in recent years to stay afloat as well as for folks who are finding themselves unemployed -- often for the first time ever.
Jobfox CEO Rob McGovern is optimistic, too. He predicts in a statement: "Epic changes are ahead throughout the professional landscape. It's just like 1991, when we didn't know the Internet was coming. New job titles will emerge, many of which haven't been invented yet. Savvy professionals will be prepared to take advantage of new opportunities."
Then again, from where is that $700 billion going to come?
