Low-cost PC vendor Asus, which made a splash with its small Eee PC clamshell portables, is also readying a desktop machine and a tablet portable.Sources indicate that the desktop Ebox, which looks like a Nintendo Wii, will ship with 2 GB of memory and a 160GB hard drive, run the same version of Linux as the existing Eee PC does, and come bundled with the same set of applications. The official announcement is expected to be June 3 at the Computex show in Taiwan.

Also, Asus?s Australian division confirmed that the company is working on a touchscreen slate-style model. That device is also expected to debut at Computex.The Register, TrustedReviews, Slashgear
