As wonderful as the iPhone 3G is, there are still a few drawbacks to it for the enterprise user. It looks like we'll soon be able to cross off "editing Office documents," as DataViz will soon be bringing its documents app to Apple's handset.First spotted by the Apple Blog, DataViz has a teaser for an upcoming iPhone app. I may be jumping the gun too, because the teaser only says "Word, Excel, & PowerPoint Files on Your iPhone." It doesn't necessarily say you'll be able to edit them, but I'd be highly surprised if they excluded that because it has been in previous versions.

DataViz is available on Windows Mobile, Symbian, Palm OS, and it's native on many BlackBerry smartphones. It's a pretty darn good editor as well, which it should be considering the premium version can run upward of $69.99. But I agree with the Apple Blog's assessment that most successful iPhone apps are far less expensive (although there's one big exception).

Still no word on when this will be up, but hopefully it will be coming soon and at a decent price. With this, the upcoming 2.2 firmware rolling out for over-the-air podcasting, Street View, and more, it looks like the iPhone is getting its major holes plugged.
