A consulting firm started by three former high-ranking government technology officials has joined Input, a market-research firm that specializes in government IT, in creating a technology and management-consulting service in the $150 billion government IT sector.

The alliance between Input and ICG Government will target vendors who want to sell products and services to governments, and agencies that seek IT-procurement advice.

The three former CIOs are Paul Brubaker, former deputy CIO at the Defense Department; ex-Virginia technology secretary Donald Upson, the first cabinet-level CIO of any state; and Alan Balutis, a former Department of Commerce CIO.
