Internet history buffs, get out your credit cards: The world's first Webcam is for sale on eBay. The famous Trojan Room coffee maker, observed by a wired camera since 1991, will soon be taken offline when its owners at Cambridge University move to a new office. To fund the purchase of a shiny new espresso machine, they're selling the coffee pot.

The coffee maker, a Krups ProAroma with a 10-cup jug, is not the original machine, but did serve in the job longer than any other. As of Wednesday afternoon, its price had risen to more than $380, with nine days left to bid. But before you grind your beans, take note: The machine leaks water and is probably broken beyond repair.

The eBay auction is at http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/aw-cgi/ eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1260882480.
