One of Android's weaknesses is that it relies a little too heavily on the cloud. Syncing photos, music, and other data with a PC needs to be done manually without the use of syncing software. FutureDial says it can get the job done.Usable syncing software for Android phones is sorely needed. The Missing Sync is one program that lets users transfer data back and forth easily, but it costs a hefty $40. This new software solution from FutureDial costs only $7 (introductory price) and claims to do pretty much anything you might need when it comes to syncing a Droid with a PC.

Right now, it works only with the Motorola Droid, and requires a PC with Windows XP, Windows Vista, or Windows 7.

Here's a list of all the features:

* Transfer and Edit between the Droid and the PC: Phonebooks, Music/Ringtones, Pictures, Movies, Text Messages.

* Create, Save and Customize Music & Ring Tones for the Droid: Take MP3 and other music files on the PC, edit them into customizable ring tones, and transfers to the Droid from the PC.

* Save Pictures from Droid to the PC for Editing: Easily and quickly transfer phone pictures to the PC for archiving or editing. Also edit pictures on the PC by adding text/borders, cropping, adjusting the brightness/contrast, and creating visual effects. Email these pictures to others from the PC, or send edited pictures back to the Droid for use as wallpapers and visual caller ID images.

* Text Messaging from Droid using the PC Keyboard: In addition to saving and archiving text messages from the Droid to the PC, you can also compose and send text messages on your computer keyboard, and send them out through the Droid handset. Also, the multi-recipient feature lets you text multiple contacts at one time.

* Side-by-Side Comparative Display: Easily compare and transfer phonebook contacts and other information between the Droid and PC.

* Free-Up Phone Memory to Take More Photos: Save phone pictures and movies from DROID to the PC for safekeeping and editing, making room ont he Droid for taking more photos.
