Sharp plans to start selling Feb. 3 a new kind of device that connects your TV to your home network.

It's CE-MR01 player is designed to play movies and music stored on a Windows XP PC on any TV in the house.

The CE-MR01 supports MPEG-1 and MPEG-2 video; MP3, linear PCM, WAV, and WMA audio; and BMP, JPEG
and PNG image formats.

It works with 802.11a, 802.11b, and 802.11g wireless networks.

The player is expected to sell for about $389, initially in Japan.
