Google today released an extended info-graphic that compiles a lot of statistics about how the Android Market is used around the world. We already know that Android smartphone users have downloaded more than 10 billion applications from the Android Market, and that the rate has accelerated to 1 billion downloads per day.

But there's much, much more.

South Koreans download the highest number of applications per capita, though sadly Google doesn't say how many on average each Korean has on their phone.

Following South Korea, the heaviest 10 downloading countries or regions are: Hong Kong, Taiwan, U.S., Singapore, Sweden, Israel, Denmark, the Netherlands, and Norway.

What types of apps are people downloading? Games take the largest piece of the pie with 25.6% of the total. In the gaming portion, 39.35% are arcade-style games, 22.08% are brain teasers, 17.68% are casual games, 7.31% are card games, 7.27% are racing games, and 6.41% are sports-related games.

Behind the gaming segment, entertainment lands second with 12.2%, followed by tools with 11.17%, communication with 6.45%, productivity with 4.67%, personalization with 4.52%, music/audio with 4.28%, social networking with 4.08%, media/video with 3.75%, and travel/local taking up just 3.56%. Somewhere close to 20% of the total falls into the "other" category.

Some fun stats: Android users have spent 1.87 million hours on the IMDb app alone in the past four months; 10 billion cans have been knocked down playing the Can Knockdown game; and 466,216 miles have been run each month by the players in the Fieldrunners game. As Google points out, that's far enough to go to the moon and back.

More than 100 million words are translated every week into 200 different countries with Google Translate. More than 12 billion miles are navigated via Google Maps each year. Adele songs have been Shazam'd 1,789,955 times. SwiftKey's X keyboard app has saved 20 billion keystrokes on Android handsets. And Android users have spent more than 4,000 years playing Talking Tom.

Last, the most popular time to download applications apparently is 9 p.m. on Sunday nights. (I don't know about you, but that's when I am settled into the couch for some TV--on my tablet.) The least popular time, for some strange reason, is at 4 a.m Monday mornings.

The app store is used by people across 190 countries around the world every day.
