At HP's Software Universe event this week, five global customers received Awards of Excellence in the categories of Transformation, Business Agility, Cost Optimization, Business Impact, and Outstanding Achievement. One winner rolled out "an IT operational model that can be supported by less than one quarter of the merged staff."Here are the five recipients of HP's "Awards of Excellence" along with an overview in HP's words of each company's accomplishment. HP said the winners were selected by an independent panel of experts. For detailed descriptions of each customer's project and accomplishment, click on the company names:

Banco Bolivariano: Excellence in Transformation. "Ecuador's Banco Bolivariano transforms the quality of critical services-including consumer and corporate banking portals-by transitioning from reactive to proactive management with HP business service management solutions."

Boeing: Excellence in Business Agility. "Boeing Commercial Aviation Services uses HP Business Availability Center software to predict performance problems and speed mean time to repair, thus improving application availability and responsiveness to customer needs."

Motorola: Excellence in Cost Optimization. "With HP Software as a Service for HP Project and Portfolio Management Center, Motorola IT drives collaborative processes-from strategic planning to project execution-and ensures that all IT spend is based on business value."

SK Telecom: Excellence in Business Impact. "SK Telecom improves business competitiveness and grows revenue by providing affiliates with a testing solution built on HP LoadRunner software, delivered in an innovative cloud environment."

JPMorgan Chase: Outstanding Achievement. "Using HP Client Automation software, JPMorgan Chase executed the largest banking merger & acquisition in history, in record time with zero tolerance for failure. The company continues to benefit from an IT operational model that can be supported by less than one quarter of the merged staff."
