The carnivorous plant easiest for the neophyte to grow is the nearly indestructible Cape Sundew (Drosera capensis) from Africa, explains David Gray, president of the International Carnivorous Plant Society.

Here's how to grow one:

To re-create the humid environment from whence your sundew hails, you'll need a terrarium. You can buy one ready-made or use a fishbowl.

If you don't have a sunny window, use a fluorescent bulb in any desk lamp. Turn it on in the A.M., off when you leave.

Keep it in a dish filled with a half-inch of distilled or rainwater only.

Feed it once a week. It loves crickets, spiders, and flies.
