HP Omni Pro 110d

Hewlett-Packard has launched a mid-priced, all-in-one PC for small businesses.

The Omni Pro 110 is being marketed as a "well-rounded" system that includes a 20-inch, anti-glare diagonal widescreen and integrated stereo speakers, webcam, and microphone for video conferencing. The PC has two USB ports on the left of the screen and four in the back.

The system is built more for handling productivity applications, such as spreadsheets, documents, and presentations, than video editing. The Omni Pro 110 runs Intel's first generation dual-core Core 2 processors and G41 chipset. The latter includes Intel's Graphics Media Accelerator X4500, which enables smooth playback of high-definition video without the need for a separate graphics card. The desktop also runs less expensive processors, such as a dual-core Celeron and a dual-core Pentium.

Up to 4 GB of system memory and 1 TB of storage is available, along with a choice of operating systems, including several versions of Windows 7, RedFlag Linux, and FreeDOS. The desktop comes with a DVD read/write drive and a six-in-one media card reader.

The OmniPro 110's screen has a resolution of 1600 x 900 pixels. The system weighs 16.8 pounds and has dimensions of 16 x 20 x 8.6 inches. The desktop has a starting price of $639.

In terms of price for all-in-one business computers, the OmniPro 110 fits between the HP 100B and the HP TouchSmart 9100, which cost $499 and $999, respectively.

The basic configuration of the least expensive system includes Windows 7 Professional, a 1.6 GHz AMD dual-core E-350 processor, and 2 GB of system memory. Other components include a 20-inch display, a 250 GB hard disk drive, and a DVD drive.

The TouchSmart 9100 has a 23-inch touch screen. The system runs Windows 7 and has a basic configuration of a first-generation 2.1 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo T6570 processor and 2 GB of memory. The PC also comes with a 250 GB hard drive and DVD drive.
