In the middle of September, HTC unveiled the gorgeous Touch HD. With a 3.8-inch screen and 480-by-800 resolution, this looked like an incredible multimedia phone. Sadly, it will not be coming to the United States.According to the company's Twitter feed:

sad news, US. we looked into it- by the time we could bring Touch HD to the states, it would be old news. We do have other cool stuff coming

A company spokesman also confirmed this for me, and after receiving tons of complaints, the Twitter read:

remember we're launching the G1 in the US first. The US does get some hot HTC phones before they come to Europe

Fair enough, I guess. Let's hope they're working on a Touch HD-style phone that's powered by Android. Besides, the Touch HD would have cost an arm and a leg anyway, and I already spend too much on cell phone stuff. And at least we have the G1, the Touch Diamond (which I'll share my thoughts on soon), and the Touch Pro to look forward to.
