Intellisync Corporation has announced availability of its 'always-on' instant message solution for users of Symbian OS smartphones.

Intellisync said its IM server can be installed on corporate networks to provide secure access to Microsoft Live Communications Server or Jabber solutions. The firm added that users are protected against unauthorized access when Intellisync IM is used with the company’s secure device management solution.

Announced Wednesday, the IM feature also facilitates the exchange of content such as images, appointments, documents, spreadsheets, and vCards. Intellisync noted that more than 14.5 million Symbian OS-based mobile phones were sold worldwide in the first half of 2005.
