Interop Radio: Innovating From The CIO's OfficeInterop Radio: Innovating From The CIO's Office
Join us at 3 p.m. EST on Tuesday, Feb. 3, when we welcome Jonathan Feldman, CIO of Asheville, NC, to Interop Radio.
It's easy to talk about innovation. To actually be an innovative leader -- especially in government IT -- is much more challenging. Our guest on the next episode of Interop Radio is one of those rare innovative leaders, and we're going to talk with him about how he does it.
Join us at 3 p.m. EST on Tuesday, Feb. 3, when we welcome our guest, Jonathan Feldman, CIO of Asheville, NC, to a show we're calling Innovating from the CIO's Office.
In his work as Asheville's CIO, Feldman's business background and work as an information columnist have helped him to create positive change in government through better practices in business technology, process, and human resources management. Asheville is a rapidly growing and popular city; it has been named a Fodor top travel destination. It's also the site of many new breweries, including New Belgium's East Coast expansion.
During Jonathan's leadership, the city has been recognized for improving services to citizens and reducing expenses through new practices and technology. (These include the International Economic Development Council New Media award, the NC Government Innovation Grant, and an Amazon "City on a Cloud" award.) He is active in the technology, startup, and open data communities, was named a top social CIO to follow by the Huffington Post, and was honored with Frost & Sullivan's CIO Impact Award. He is a co-author of Code For America's book, Beyond Transparency, and blogs about work life, business technology, and running at Feldman.org.
This promises to be an outstanding show for everyone in the Interop community. Join us for our conversation at 3 p.m. EST on Tuesday, Feb. 3, and take part in the live chat that moves along with the radio show. We'll be taking your questions from the chat and the comments here. And remember, if you can't join us live, the show will be available on demand and as a podcast on iTunes.
