If you work in IT -- and if you're reading this, chances are very good that you do work in IT -- how about a sanity check?TechRepublic executive editor Jason Hiner published a list of "10 dirty little secrets IT workers know, or should know. Like number 7: Certifications wont always help you become a better technologist, but they can help you land a better job or a pay raise.

Hiner writes, "Most of these secrets are aimed at network administrators, IT managers, and desktop support professionals. This list is not aimed at developers and programmers -- they have their own set of additional dirty little secrets -- but some of these will apply to them as well.
