JasperSoft Corp. on Monday launched JasperForge.org, a Web site that provides free access to collaborative tools for building, deploying and extending open-source business intelligence software.
JasperForge.org also offers software downloads, configuration tips and the ability to share BI deployment experiences with other IT professionals. Collaboration development tools available on the site include discussion forums, version control, wikis, a development dashboard, issue tracking and automated project monitoring.
San Francisco-based JasperSoft provides a suite of open-source BI software, including JasperReports.
"Currently, there are more than 30 open source projects built around our reporting product, JasperReports, and dozen of companies with commercial applications or services built on the JasperSoft architecture," Barry Klawans, chief technology officer for JasperSoft, said in a statement. "With the rapid growth in development projects and exchange of technical ideas between projects, we decided to build JasperForge.org to bring everything together in one location."
JasperForge collaboration tools can be used to exchange information on JasperSoft-related BI software. Project space is available at no change to any open source or gated community project that is of general interest to JasperSoft users. Private project space is available for JasperSoft partners.
